We are Nigel and Janice John and we took early retirement and moved to France in June 2008.
After busy professional lives in the London area we love the peace and tranquillity of La Tremoulie. We chose the area for its rural location, yet easy access to lively market towns, international airports and motorway network to channel ports.
The locals have been friendly and welcoming and we’ve made many new friends within the community.
After much work on the gîte and garden, it was ‘test driven’ by family and friends throughout the summer and autumn of 2008 and in May 2009 we welcomed our first paying guests! We were delighted that from our eight paid bookings that first year, three re-booked for 2010.
The trend has continued with many couples and families returning again and again! We are very much looking forward to seeing our new friends again this year (some for the 8th time) and to welcoming some new faces!
Two years ago we adopted Zeyna, a French/Belgian Shepherd cross, from our local animal rescue centre. She is now very firmly ensconced in our hearts and home (in fact she rules the roost)!
She loves people and other dogs, but after saying “hello” to our guests, she is contained to our part of the garden and not a nuisance!
We love our new home and the culture and friendliness of our adopted country – we hope you will too.
But most of all, we know how precious your holiday is, and our aim is to ensure that you have everything you need so that you can relax and enjoy yourselves.
